By using filefriend you agree to these terms. filefriend is a document vault and electronic-signature service.

Important disclaimer. filefriend is a software tool, not a law firm, and does not provide legal advice. We do not draft, review, or guarantee the legal effect of your documents. Templates are starting points, not legal advice. Whether any document is legally enforceable depends on applicable law and your situation — for important agreements, consult a qualified lawyer. The service is provided "as is," without warranties, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

1. Electronic signatures

filefriend captures signing intent, consent, and a tamper-evident audit trail, and produces a downloadable record. Electronic signatures are governed by laws such as the U.S. ESIGN Act and UETA. Whether any given document is legally enforceable depends on those laws and your circumstances — filefriend provides the tooling and records, not legal advice. For high-stakes agreements, consult a lawyer.

2. Your documents

You own your documents. You're responsible for what you upload and sign, and for confirming the other party's identity and authority. Don't use filefriend for unlawful documents or to impersonate anyone.

Signed documents and audit trails may be retained (e.g. up to 7 years) to preserve their evidentiary value, per common recordkeeping practice. See the Privacy Policy.

The service is provided "as is," to the fullest extent permitted by law. filefriend is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid in the prior 12 months.
