Plain English first (§LVIII.4): what we collect, why, and how it helps you. We collect what the vault needs to work, deliberately, and listed here. This is not a minimization claim.
We do not sell your documents or signing data. We do not use them for advertising. We do not dress collection as "we barely touch your data". the product is a vault; a vault holds things on purpose.
Signed documents and their audit trails are retained to support their legal usefulness and recordkeeping (e.g. up to 7 years), consistent with common business/tax retention practice. You can request export or deletion subject to legal retention obligations.
Documents are access-controlled and signing events are recorded in a tamper-evident chain so the record can be verified. Treat your account credentials as the keys to your vault.

We load a small first-party script on this site that records basic product-usage events (which surface you used, which action, and when, plus a random device identifier in your browser storage). Events are sent to our servers and may be associated with your account if you are signed in. They do not include document text, prompts, or clipboard contents. Sync is on by default; if your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, we treat counting as off unless you later choose otherwise. We do not use third-party advertising analytics (no gtag / pixels).
We share data only with providers needed to run the services, under agreements that limit their use of it:
When signed in, use Account → Your data to export a JSON package or request account erase. Erase is honest about partial stages (billing receipts may be retained for legal duty; biometric weights are purged when that path is fully wired). You can also email privacy@manymoats.com or support@manymoats.com.
filefriend is for adults handling agreements; it is not directed to children under 13.
